Laes is from the beaches of the Kent coast – and for everyone who likes being beachside.

The quick-dippers and the family daytrippers. The committed suntanners and the wild swimmers. The staycationers, the holiday-makers and the backpackers.

Whatever draws you to the beach, we believe laying by the water should come easy.

We're Alex and Claire, one Kent-born local and one new-local, and we love living by the sea. We bought two Turkish towels a decade ago on our first trip away together and they’ve helped us perfect our travel-light approach to laying by the water ever since.

We launched Laes to share our ethos of easy-going beach-going. We work with trusted makers around the world on our curation of Turkish beach towels, upcycled beach bags and other beachy goods for good times on the beach.

We're big fans of beaches - and we champion looking after them too. We're all about going lightly with just what you need, and taking it all away with you when you leave.

Our beach bags are made from upcycled nylon, saving waste like bottle caps and plastic straws ending up in our waters. Our towels are spun using traditional techniques in Turkey's textile district of Denizli, using OKEO-TEX certified or recycled fibres. We stock Thermos cool bags made from recycled plastic bottles. Even our totes and net bags are made from organic cotton.

All in all? Enjoy the beach, leave no trace.
